Traps you should avoid while on vacation in Croatia
August 21, 2024Perhaps it was the feeling of happiness and the magic of the sun that led the ancient Romans to call Rab - Felix Arba the “island of happiness.”
The real adventure begins on the Lopar Peninsula, home to a true treasure trove of sandy beaches, with its crowning jewel shining brightest - Paradise Beach, a name it truly deserves.
The beaches of Rab seem to have divided themselves according to moods and desires - rocky beaches grace the western part of the island, sandy beaches delight in the north, while pebble beaches offer perfect harmony in the south. However, four beaches stand out as the true gems of this island.
Sahara Beach
The enchanting oasis known as Sahara Beach, rising above the coastal expanse north of the charming village of Lopar, proudly bears its name, evoking images of the legendary African desert.
Reaching this beach, framed by the sea and sandy shores, requires just over half an hour of walking, giving you time to prepare for an unforgettable experience.
However, if you want to admire this beauty from the open sea, you can also reach it by boat, offering a spectacular panoramic view.
The greenery adorning this coast, like a precious emerald, contrasts with the warm sand, but it won't provide much shade.
This beach will appeal to visitors seeking privacy as there are no cafes or restaurants. This means you’ll need to bring your own drinks, food, and other essentials.
It is also worth mentioning that CNN’s travel and tourism portal declared Rab the world’s number one naturist destination.
In addition to Sahara Beach, Rab offers two more stunning naturist destinations: the breathtaking beaches of Ciganka and Stolac, further enriching the array of natural wonders available to true nature lovers.
Beach Type: | Sandy naturist beach |
Beach Length: | Approximately 200 to 350 meters |
Access: | Accessible only on foot (about a 30-minute walk from Paradise Beach in Lopar) or by boat. |
Suitable for: | Naturists and visitors looking for a peaceful and natural environment away from crowds. |
Beach Amenities: | There are no commercial facilities on the beach; visitors are advised to bring their own supplies, drinks, and food. |
NOTE: There is no natural shade on the beach, so bringing an umbrella or other sun protection is recommended.

Its shallow waters are ideal for carefree play for the little ones, building sandcastles, and enjoying popular sports such as picigin. For underwater enthusiasts, the crystal-clear sea makes it a perfect destination for diving.
But that’s not all!
Paradise Beach is equipped with everything to make your vacation complete. From cozy cafés and restaurants to adrenaline activities like parasailing, bike and boat rentals, and fun attractions such as Aquagan, Aquapark, and trampolines, there’s something for everyone.
And with a lifeguard service ensuring visitors’ safety, you can feel completely relaxed and carefree on this beach.

This magical shoreline will capture the hearts of young adventurers, families with children, and those seeking a peaceful retreat to unwind.
With its fine, soft sand, Pudarica offers an unforgettable entrance into the sea, turning every swim into a relaxing stroll along the shore.
When night falls, this beach, especially famous for the Santos club, transforms into the epicenter of nightlife on Rab Island.

Suha Punta
